6 GOALS SUMMARY 

We are “Building God’s People with…” the six goals.  Next are summaries of each Goal and some ways you can get connected….

Goal #1 

  • Church Family - Koinonia Groups (Communion with God in Community) are about fellowship with friends, making new friends, studying God’s word, laughing and learning together to strengthen our faith.  Through Koinonia Groups we intentionally develop our faith and our relationships with others in our Church Family.
  • Get Connected in Goal #1 by…Facilitate a K-group, Join as a K-group member, Help with special events , Help make calls or other tasks, Work on displays & publications, Join the  K-group team, Give a testimony about K-groups, Contact me, I have a question or an idea.

Goal #2 

  • New Friends Ministry is providing visitors with a friendly, warm welcome and assistance to help them feel at home at First Church.  Through the New Friends ministry, we will show Christ’s love through hospitality.
  • Get Connected in Goal #2 by…Become a greeter (indoor or Outdoor), Join the New Friends team, Provide baked goods for the hospitality table, Distribute church business cards, Assist with visitor packets, Set up coffee & baked goods some Sunday morning, Greet visitors & offer your assistance (give a tour, answer questions, direct to refreshments, etc…), Contact me I have a question or an idea.

Goal #3 

  • Community “PF 6.8”  is building lives with love. It’s a ministry whose goal is to demonstrate the love of Christ and power of the Church by meeting housing needs for those in our community. One house, one family, one mission.    
     Get Connected in Goal #3 by… Join the Community team,  Provide time/resource to home repair,  Help with fundraising,  Identify a family in need, Help with organizing people, projects, or resources,  Help with delivering resources to families,  Help family with life skills development, Help with getting the word out, Contact me I have a question or idea

Goal #4 

  • Worship – The Scents-abilities Team is about multi-sensory thematic planning for worship vitality, relevance and participation.  The team is dreaming, developing and deploying engaging worship elements and services for our weekly worship of God.
     Get Connected in Goal #4  by…Sharing your gifts in worship, serving th  team, helping with decoration, assisting with preparation, sharing an idea, praying, inviting & communicating.

Goal #5 

  • People in Need -- Visitation Team ministry is an opportunity for individuals who feel a sense of calling from God to care for others.  Members of the team pray for and visit individuals in need of encouragement, comfort and/or loneliness.  Visitations are made to persons identified as shut-ins, individuals living in personal care or nursing homes and others identified as having potential need.
     Get Connected in Goal #5 by… Join the visitation ministry team for training and support as you visit someone in need, learn more about the team, explore other ways to meet needs through visitation.

Goal #6 

  • Children – Rotation Sunday School -- is creating an engaging, VBS-like, experience each week for our children, in order to teach children effectively about Jesus, involve more children and adults, and craft an inviting atmosphere for vital faith learning.
