In 1743 John Wesley suggested that we ought to evidence three things in our lives. First, "by doing no harm and avoiding evil in every kind..." Second by doing good through offering ourselves as the body of Christ in giving food to the poor, clothing the naked and by visiting those who are sick. Thirdly, by attending to the ordinances of God such as the public worship of God, ministry of the word, Communion, private prayer, searching and studying the Scriptures, fasting and abstinence.
The various forms of ministry at Palmyra First place heavy emphasis upon Wesley's suggestions, and we believe the results of that labor provide every member with opportunities for fellowship and mutual support while we offer ourselves in love to the Lord.
